The Place of Genealogies in Scripture
  • Have you ever studied a genealogy in Scripture before? How is it helpful to you to understand them?
  • Discuss your spiritual genealogy. What is the trail of spiritual influence for you (from what you're aware of)?
The Genealogy of Luke
  • What names stand out to you from the genealogy? What kind of impact did they have in God's story in the Old Testament?
  • Read the genealogy from Matthew 1. What are the things that stand out to you in contrast with Luke's?
  • Discuss how you think the passage connects to Luke 3:21-22
  • Discuss how you think the passage might connect to Luke 4:1-13
  • Have you ever had a conversation with a skeptical person about defending the Bible? Describe those events.
