Questions:
- How would you describe Habakkuk’s attitude in this chapter?
- When people suffer because of violence and injustice, how do you feel?
- What should people do when they do not understand why God allows injustices to continue?
- What was wrong with Habakkuk's view of God? How does your view of God's justice compare with the prophet's?
- Habakkuk did not submit to cynicism but approached God in prayer. Are there areas in your life in which you have submitted to cynicism and failed to submit yourself to the promises of God and the hope that you can have? Why would we choose cynicism over hope in God?
- What evidence can we share with a person to encourage an attitude of faith in times of oppression?
