What We Believe...
Children's Ministry
At CFC we offer instruction and care for all children from infancy through 5th grade. Three Gospels– Matthew, Mark, and Luke– record the account of Christ calling children to Himself to bless them. This highlighted the tender love and importance Jesus placed on children specifically. As believers at CFC we also are beholden to this same level of care for children. Volunteers in the Children’s Ministry are eager to serve this precious treasure within our classrooms.
Children in the Worship Service
You may be surprised to note that our elementary-aged children sit with their families during the service. While that may seem peculiar to many church families, we at CFC have embraced the benefits of having children join us for the sermon. Parents are able to maintain their chief role in the discipleship of their family. The sermon offers parents the ability to teach throughout the week by answering questions, offering explanations, and rereading scripture. This impresses upon our children that the preaching of the word is intended for all! Finally, this practice gives parents an opportunity to model the habits of a Christian through praise, prayer, reading of the word, communion, and enjoying the fellowship of believers, all of which we wish to instill in our children.

MY CHURCH NOTEBOOK
Elementary-aged children are encouraged to record their thoughts during the service within a notebook. Use this as a springboard to stir up discussion regarding the weekly sermon and offer discipleship to grasp the truths that were shared.

Our Curriculum
CFC volunteers aim to provide children with instruction that accurately reflects the truth of the transformational gospel message across scripture in a way that is appropriate for all ages we serve. We pray for the wisdom of Proverbs to ring true in the lives of children, that if we train them in the way they should go, they won’t depart from it. Below you will find the curriculum CFC uses to pursue this endeavor.
