Building Community, Growing Faith
A Campaign of Prayer and Stewardship
Our church, Cross Fellowship, is a small church in a rapidly growing area. The population growth in our area has been phenomenal the past 8 years. We did a study of a five mile radius of the new location. Back in the year 2000, the population was a little over 6,000. In 2020, the population was over 100,000. By 2029 it is projected to be almost 190,000. We firmly believe in a commitment to be right in the middle of this growth, despite how difficult being physically in this area can be. There are hardly any churches in our area-it consists of mostly planned communities that have been built in the last 5-10 years.
Over this time we have grown to a congregation that averages around 70 total people in service on Sundays to around 120-130 on Sundays. A blessing for sure, but one that has created new challenges for us. We’ve had to go to two services to accommodate worship and children. Our desire is to be in one service while providing children’s ministry opportunities. The cost of the space has significantly increased as our lease was expiring and we needed more space. We prayerfully decided to take the two spaces next to us, renewing our lease early to allow us to lock 7 more years. This is a major stretch to our budget, but there are not any cheaper places to meet. This will allow us to accommodate growth.

The challenge in front of us is significant! We have a plan with several phases. The first phase will be to finish out the new space to be used for worship. This will allow us to be back in one service together. Once we have accomplished that, our second phase will be to remodel and expand our bathrooms and turn our current worship space into space for children and youth. Finally, we will remodel our current children’s area into a lobby and office space.
Our mission from the beginning has been "Taking the gospel to North Texas by building a cross-centered community of believers that experience God's grace and allow it to change every part of their lives, families and communities."
